The Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) Project is delivering a new $1 Billion purpose-built facility for cancer research, treatment, care and education in the Melbourne suburb of Parkville, Victoria.
KPD is working closely with the project lab design team to deliver the facility including PC2 complainant cantilevered laboratory bench systems and lab services reticulation management.
The facility features KPD's SLS (Suspended Laboratory Services) System and the PC3 compliant ARS30 reagent shelving systems throughout. KPD are also supplying laboratory furniture items including Lab storage units and lab benching generally.
The project will provide a brand new home for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and new cancer research and clinical services for Melbourne Health (including the Royal Melbourne Hospital) and new cancer research and education facilities for The University of Melbourne.
System 4 is designed for wet laboratories with manual operations requiring a continuous work surface. The fixed benching is supported on a metal frame.
Flexibility in the location of knee space, drawers and cupboards is provided by a range of movable modular underbench storage units.
Reagent shelving modules incorporating a horizontal services duct to reticulate power, data, telephone, gases and water can be mounted on the bench as required. Waste piping is installed below sink bowl level supported on metal legs.
System 4 is not ideal for flexibility in accommodating large bench mounted equipment. For an updated version of above bench horizontal services ducts please refer to System 10.
