The Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) Project is delivering a new $1 Billion purpose-built facility for cancer research, treatment, care and education in the Melbourne suburb of Parkville, Victoria.
KPD is working closely with the project lab design team to deliver the facility including PC2 complainant cantilevered laboratory bench systems and lab services reticulation management.
The facility features KPD's SLS (Suspended Laboratory Services) System and the PC3 compliant ARS30 reagent shelving systems throughout. KPD are also supplying laboratory furniture items including Lab storage units and lab benching generally.
The project will provide a brand new home for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and new cancer research and clinical services for Melbourne Health (including the Royal Melbourne Hospital) and new cancer research and education facilities for The University of Melbourne.
System 6 is designed for maximum flexibility where overbench reagent shelving may be required.
The only fixed elements on the laboratory floor are the metal-framed services 'spines' containing all the required reticulated laboratory services and services 'bollards', providing laboratory services outlets — power, data, telephone and gases. The services spine can be fitted with troughs and drip cups.
Either fixed continuous benching or movable modular benches, workstations, sink benches and floor-standing equipment can be placed at the required locations against the 'spine'.
Reagent shelves, if required, can be placed between the services bollards. They can easily be moved if a large item of bench-mounted equipment requires the extra depth.
